Each year, the President is required to submit to Congress the Administration’s budget request for the fiscal year beginning in October.  That budget, once approved, sets the tone and tenor for the following year and determines where Federal dollars will be spent, by which agencies, and in support of which programs and priorities.  Hanging in the balance are the fate of grant programs, educational support, housing, roads and infrastructure, food programs, and all the myriad of programs the government supports.

Join us for this in-depth look at FY16. You’ll hear sage analysis from prominent expert Frank Shafroth, a member of the US Supreme Court Bar, who has served as assistant counsel for the US Senate Banking committee as well as for members in both the House and Senate.

Shafroth has served as the Director of Policy and Federal Relations for the National League of Cities, the National Governors Association, and the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, among other positions, and currently teaches in the Masters in Public Leadership degree program for the Center for Excellence in Public Leadership at George Washington University.  He is also director of state and local leadership at George Mason.

This briefing will detail the dollars and cents behind the President’s priorities for the nation in the coming year.
