Federal News Radio Online Chat: U.S. Cyber Command's Maj. Gen. Paul Nakasone
U.S. Cyber Command's Cyber National Mission Force Commander Maj. Gen. Paul Nakasone will join Federal News Radio for a free online chat at 11:30 a.m. on June 2.
Nakasone will discuss the challenges of protecting the nation in the cyber realm, including initiatives and plans to protect Defense Department networks and data. He will address operational challenges and mission critical cyber tasks.
Nakasone also will talk about the growth of U.S. Cyber Command’s cyber mission forces, the threats they encounter and how the command is ensuring troops are prepared for the cyber battle.
The Defense Department is expanding its cyber mission force to 133 teams by 2018. About half of those teams are tasked with protecting DoD networks and systems. Other teams will defend the United States from cyber attacks and provide support to operations.
Federal News Radio’s reporter Scott Maucione will moderate the discussion, which is underwritten by Carbon Black.
