The Latest on Containers
In this session, we will explore the different ways that containers can be run on the VMware vSphere platform. We will start with simple Docker host deployed as VM leveraging vSphere storage using Project Hatchway and deploying containers from VMware Harbor registry. Then we will explore how vSphere Integrated Containers promotes containers to first class citizens (VMs) in a vSphere deployment while maintaining a Docker API endpoint. We will then review Project Pacific, announced at VMworld 2019, and how it radically changes how we can run containers on an upcoming version of vSphere as it bakes Kubernetes right into vSphere!
