Providing for our national defense, responding to natural disasters, and securing our infrastructure are just a snapshot of the kinds of services Americans expect of their government. Behind these activities are the 2.1 million federal civil servants who bring government agencies to life. These organizations are only as strong as their workforces are empowered and motivated. That motivation must be built on a combination of an unbreakable commitment to public service, a thrust to innovate and remove barriers, and adaptability to next-gen technology. These civil servants must also flourish personally through career growth, fair and competitive compensation, and an inclusive, supportive work environment.

In this program, government and industry thought leaders will explore how public sector organizations can apply a human-centered lens to invest in their civil service such that it brings quick wins now and builds a path towards achieving the ambition they have for their workforce in the future. We’ll cover innovative approaches to skills development, data-based workforce planning, and employee value propositions. We’ll speak with several government agencies that are shaking up the status quo as they build a 21st century civil service.
