This live audio conference will provide updates and analysis of the most recent court decisions relating to eminent domain, including the 'public use' limitation under federal and state law. In the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Kelo v. City of New London in 2005, many state courts - and state legislatures - have addressed the question of whether a taking is truly for public use. The Kelo case has also raised interest in other aspects of eminent domain law - just compensation, necessity, what property can be taken - and we will address recent cases in those areas as well. Learn about these developments and find out how these decisions affect your clients and your practice. You will also have an opportunity to ask one-on-one questions.
