FedRAMP: Speeding Toward the Cloud
Under pressure to save $5 billion a year by moving systems to the cloud, the federal government is banking on a game-changing security program for obtaining cloud services.
The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, also known as FedRAMP, is aimed at enabling agencies to leverage security authorizations across government. This "do once, use many times" approach will save agencies and cloud service providers valuable cost, time and staff required to conduct duplicative, resource intensive agency security assessments. The program will also move agencies toward real time information assurance through the use of continuous monitoring.
Initial launch is set for June and the goal is to be at full operational capacity by the end of 2012. Agencies may save up to 40 percent in security testing and authorization costs through FedRAMP.
Join us to hear from experts who have been at the center of designing plans for the new cloud certification program.
