Innovation Spotlight: Whole-of-State Cybersecurity
With $1 billion in funding over four years and key requirements aimed at improving cyber strategies, the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP) is transforming how state, county and city governments anticipate and respond to cyber threats. It means government technology officials are changing the way they think about cybersecurity, especially as they conduct assessments and implement innovative solutions to enhance resilience and boost efficiency.
At least 80% of the grant funding a state receives must be passed to local governments in the form of cash and/or shared services—underscoring the importance of a whole-of-state cybersecurity approach. States must balance their localities’ need for cash with the provision of services, while ensuring they are interoperable.
How is the SLCGP improving information sharing, systems security and cyber workforce development? Join us for the third episode of Route Fifty’s Innovation Spotlight series for a deep dive into the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program. Attendees will walk away from this event with a better understanding of:
- Best practices state and local leaders can adopt to meet the program’s goals.
- How states are developing cybersecurity plans and ensuring their cybersecurity planning committees stay up to date on emerging threats.
- What the future of the SLCGP holds, including states’ next steps after the funding runs out.
