Tech 101: Wearable Technologies

Wearable technologies are advancing across a range of sectors, enabling continuous monitoring, enhanced situational awareness, and improved human performance. From industrial safety to healthcare and emergency response, these systems are designed to operate in real time, support decision-making, and promote safe working practices.

This introductory webinar will explore the types of wearable technologies that have been developed to promote ergonomic safety in warehousing and manufacturing workplaces to prevent musculoskeletal disorders, as well as their affiliated benefits and limitations. It will also discuss applications within the Department of Defense—where such systems have been tested for manufacturing worker safety—and place those applications within the greater context of challenges that these technologies face and ongoing actions that may affect their success in deployment.
